This is a good set of books covering issues that will help Aboriginal people – members and directors of Aboriginal corporations understand governance.
While they are based on the Commonwealth Government Corporations Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Act, the CATSI Act, they are general enough to be useful for any other type of legal incorporation.
Remember that the examples given are just that – examples, so check what is the case for your rules, like the quorum size for a meetings, and as the CLC say “These books are only for learning. It is not advice. If you have a question or a problem, talk to a lawyer. The writers of the books, CLC and ORIC are not responsible for things you do because of these books”.
