Aboriginal Housing Northern Territory (AHNT) Aboriginal Corporation is the community-controlled peak body for Aboriginal housing in the Northern Territory. 

AHNT works with the four Northern Territory land councils, the Northern Territory and Australian governments, our members and other stakeholders in the housing sector to influence policy, improve practice and promote agency and transparency in decision-making around Aboriginal housing. 

We have an incredible responsibility and privilege, to help bring about long-lasting, meaningful change for Aboriginal people, who will benefit from a strong and prosperous Aboriginal housing sector.

AHNT and NAAJA call for urgent action on YiSSA closure

Aboriginal Housing Northern Territory (AHNT) and the North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA) are today calling on the Northen Territory Government to reverse the decision to close the YiSSA short stay accommodation centre and work with Yilli Rreung Housing Aboriginal Corporation (Yilli Housing) and Mission Australia to prevent hundreds of vulnerable Territorians from being displaced or forced into homelessness.

 ABORIGINAL HOUSING NORTHERN TERRITORY (AHNT) MEETS WITH SENIOR GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS IN CANBERRA

Aboriginal Housing NT (AHNT) welcomed the opportunity to meet directly with the senior ministers in Canberra this week to discuss the urgent need for sustained Commonwealth investment in Northern Territory homelands.

The meetings held across two days, were led by Independent Member for Mulka and senior Liya-Dhälinymirr Djambarrpuyŋu leader Yingiya Guyula MLA. The delegation brought together AHNT Chief Executive Officer Leeanne Caton, AHNT Directors and Traditional Owners representing homelands from across north-east Arnhem Land, west Arnhem Land and Urapuntja (Utopia) homelands in Central Australia.
