Aboriginal Housing Northern Territory is the peak body advocating for Aboriginal controlled housing in the Northern Territory. We are the NT’s leading voice on Aboriginal housing reform and Aboriginal community control.

You will have a strong knowledge of the NT’s housing, homelands and town camps system, working closely with our membership of 22 Aboriginal community controlled housing organisations – ensuring that the AHNT maintains the strategic direction set by the board and elaborated on in our Strategic Plan

As CEO your duties include proactively leading and influencing reforms, working closely with the Joint Steering Committee for Remote Housing Northern Territory, maintain strong partnerships, representing the Aboriginal community controlled sector across high-level discussions with government ministers, national forums and media, providing strategic advice, and ensuring best-practice accountability. 

Extensive and critical knowledge and understanding of the Northern Territory’s housing system, Well-developed and strategic, conceptual and analytical skills, Exceptional collaborative and influential skills, highly developed cultural awareness and sensitivity, sound financial and organisational skills, Exceptional oral and written communication skills, Extensive and critical knowledge of Northern Territory and federal housing policy and politics, and preferably previous experience as a senior executive of an Aboriginal corporation are also desirable.
